The sun was already shining through the gap in my bedroom curtains. It promises to be a great day at the beach. After breakfast, before going out, I apply a tube of SPF 50 to my face and body for protection on my skin. This was necessary because it would take at least 45 minutes on the bike before I set foot on the sand.
The beach club has beautiful beach beds and I spread a large Beach-Street towel over my beach bed and applied just the right amount of sunscreen before I got in the water.
I didn’t think to slather myself with sunscreen before, but because of the much greater impact of UV rays on the skin due to the depletion of the ozone layer, I now pay more attention and apply sunscreen regularly.
Today, there is a beach volleyball competition and my friends and I have signed up for it. We’ve been practicing for a month and are really looking forward to it! After a few hours of sunbathing and swimming, it was time.
Luckily, I carry SPF 50 because when you sweat, sunscreen loses its power and you have to apply it more often. The girls and I rubbed each other’s backs, shoulders, and hind legs and prepared for battle.
I noticed most of the participants did not wear enough sunscreen and some of them were red like lobsters after the race.
We didn’t win, but we had a great time and after eating together, I cycled home with a big smile on my face. Upon returning home, I rinsed off the sand and salt water and applied Beach-Street’s Aftersun, which gave a lovely cool and fresh feeling.
In the evening, before bed, I massage my face with SUN Beach-Street oil for extra hydration.
